Watch the Paso Fino kicking up dust as it goes side to side! Very nice video This paso is obviously trained very well! Watch closely and you will see that there is always just one foot in the air even as fast as it is moving. Beautiful dark color on that horse by the way!

The smoothness of its ride is enjoyable to a level that could be compared to eating ice cream on a hot summer day as a young child. In the Paso Fino gait, there are essentially three speeds to its ambling gait. Listed from slowest to fastest, there is the

paso fino
paso corto
paso largo

There is also another one referred to as the Paso Llano and is found in the Peruvian Paso.

The Paso Fino gait is known as an “ambling” gait. The term “ambling” gait refers to an intermediate gait of a horse. Ambling gaits are faster than a walk slower than a canter.
